Book Review- The Harrowing

I really enjoyed this book by Alexandra Sokoloff. It was an easy read and held my interest immediately. The first several chapters were the best and then

Meet Elwood

Elwood is quite a character. This picture is several months old so he’s much bigger today. Elwood actually communicates with me more than any cat I’ve ever known. If he can see the bottom of his food bowl he will seek me out and by meowing, pawing and putting on some crazy cat acrobatic performance will [...]

Meet Sophie

Sophie is just not a very photogenic cat. Almost every picture I have taken of her results in some weird deranged expression. Some people are that way as well. Something just makes their face go all cockeyed and cooky when you point a camera toward them.
Sophie is Babes’ cat. Recently she started to have seizures.

Meet Rachie

Rachie Poo is my middle child. While Sizz & Babes are trashing the house, screaming & beating each other half to death, Rach will be sipping a cup of cocoa while watching a movie or quietly drawing in her sketch book. She is the only child I have who will help clean the house without being [...]

Backseat Philosopher

Babes is my backseat philosopher. With her it’s not why is the sky blue it’s what if’s. After being raised in the very strict & cultish Mormon church I decided that I would let my children find religion without any assistence from me. I only offer my opinion, when asked, and that is usually based on [...]

The Eccentric Mother, Wife, Photographer

……daughter, sister, aunt, friend.
Ask anyone who knows me and the words weird, crazy or freak will be thrown in there somewhere. That’s fine with me I strive to be different. I am an unconventional mother, wife and photographer. I strongly encourage my children to be themselves and not be pressured into looking or dressing any [...]

Meet Sizz and Babes

Sizzle is my oldest wild child at nineteen years old. Babes is my youngest at ten. It’s pretty obvious how Babes or Baby Girl got her nickname. She is the baby of the bunch and there are a chunk of years between Sizz 19, Rachie Poo “Rach” nearly  17, and Babes who will be 10 in a couple [...]

Wednesday Lunch Box

Baby girl hates school lunch. On the ride home from school one of my twenty questions is always; What did you have for lunch? Without fail her answer is always sponge. Sometimes it’s brown sponge with this junk that is supposed to be gravy and sometimes it’s white sponge that looks like chicken but tastes [...]

Tomato Jungle

My backyard is a jungle full of tomatoes and yellow squash. I never knew how recipe challenged yellow squash is until I had them in heaping piles on every flat surface in my kitchen. I mean, there’s just so much fried squash a person can eat. Tomatoes on the other hand are wonderful any which way you serve them.
